You brought me to your cross,
to your suffering.
I felt your love even then,
poured out for us all.
I wept,
I knelt,
I stood,
I called to you.
My only thought was
to comfort you,
to let you know I was there,
to tell you that I love you.
I stayed
until the vision faded
and you spoke:
“This is how I was with you
in your suffering—
holding you,
loving you,
protecting the deepest
parts of you.
Your love for me
in my suffering
is a glimpse of my love for you
in your suffering.
Trust this love.
Live in this love.
Let this love live in you.”

there they crucified him.
